Chris Young's UTA Deal Signals Country Stars' Push for Multi-Platform Expansion

“I’m very excited to move into this new chapter at UTA,” Chris Young said. “I really feel like there is a plan and a vision for growth and moving forward.”

The chapter in question: United Talent Agency has signed the Grammy-nominated country singer-songwriter for global representation in every area. The agency will go after work in live touring, media, filmed entertainment and brand partnerships.

UTA agent Brian Hill didn’t hold back. “Chris is a world-class singer, songwriter, and live performer,” he said. “We’re excited to welcome him to the UTA family, and we look forward to building upon the incredible foundation he’s already established. This is only the beginning!”

Two decades in

Young won “Nashville Star” in 2006 and put out his self-titled debut the same year. He is now a Grand Ole Opry member with 14 No. 1 singles and 11.9 billion on-demand streams. He holds 56 RIAA certifications for his recording, writing and co-producing work, plus CMT Awards and a string of ACM, AMA and CMA nominations.

His first chart-topper, “Gettin’ You Home (The Black Dress Song),” reached No. 1 on Oct. 24, 2009. He told Taste of Country Nights last year that Kenny Chesney phoned to congratulate him that night, and his promotion VP, who handed over the phone, was riding on Chesney’s plane. Young took it for a prank. Chesney later bought him a beer at a small Nashville saloon called Red Door.

On the road now

His tenth studio album, “I Didn’t Come Here to Leave,” came out in 2025 and has passed 80 million global streams. It peaked at No. 50 on Billboard’s Country Albums chart. Over the past year he has headlined across North America, shared stages with Miranda Lambert, Jon Pardi, Ashley McBryde and Scotty McCreery, and played The Long Road Festival, Calgary Stampede, Country In The Park and YQM Country Fest.

The calendar stays full. He plays Gila River Hotels & Casinos – Wild Horse Pass in Chandler, Arizona, on Nov. 6, then runs his holiday “An Acoustic Christmas Tour” in December. Dates so far: Dec. 11 at Beau Rivage Theatre in Biloxi, Mississippi; Dec. 12 at Harrah’s Cherokee Event Center in North Carolina; Dec. 18 at Effingham Performance Center in Illinois; and Dec. 19 at The Exhibition Hall at French Lick Resort in Indiana.
