LONDON, June 26 — Madonna sat down with Graham Norton for nearly an hour, and the conversation moved from dancefloor confessions to a very strong hint about Glastonbury. The pop star, promoting her forthcoming album Confessions II, revealed she was jealous of Kylie Minogue. “That’s how I started,” Madonna told Norton.
“I was a dancer. Dancing is in my DNA.
It just creates community — and sometimes relationships.” The album finds Madonna back in her natural habitat. It reflects on her origins in 1980s New York. But the record also gets personal.
One track, a duet with her daughter Lola, addresses strains in their relationship. Another, Fragile, mourns her brother Christopher, who died of cancer in 2024.
Madonna said she was excited for fans to hear the record, “because it’s a whole story… I can’t just make dance music about nothing.” She did admit that “nobody ever wants to dance with me.” The reason? She gets carried away.
“I just go crazy. I think I irritate a lot of people.” The big news, though, came when Norton asked about touring plans. The star suggested 2027 could finally be the year she headlines Glastonbury.
Madonna was widely rumored to top the Pyramid Stage in 2024, before negotiations fell apart. “I think I’ll do promo tours for a while, then in the summertime something bigger,” she said.
Norton replied. “Oh, that sounds really exciting and good. I think I know what you’re talking about.” The two shared a long, knowing look.
Norton sought confirmation. “Is it in this country?” he asked.

For now, Madonna is focused on the album. Confessions II finds her on the dancefloor, where she says she started.
