Sexyy Red Drops “Hood Hottest Princess” Mixtape with Star-Studded Collaborations

The St. Louis rapper Sexyy Red has released her second mixtape, “Hood Hottest Princess,” on June 9, 2023, through Open Shift. Rather than carrying the project alone, the artist has structured the release around a series of guest appearances that reinforce her position in hip-hop.

The mixtape has received positive feedback from critics, with much of the attention directed at the roster of collaborators featured across its tracks. Five singles preceded the mixtape’s arrival, each introducing a different artist into the mix. Nicki Minaj, Juicy J, ATL Jacob, and Sukihana all appear on the project. These names represent established figures in the industry, and their involvement signals that the mixtape is not a casual release.

Minaj, in particular, is selective about the projects she joins, and her participation on “Pound Town 2” adds credibility. The original version of “Pound Town” had already gained traction, and the sequel with Minaj elevates it further.

Juicy J brings decades of Southern hip-hop experience to the table. The Memphis rapper and producer has a long history of crafting hits, and his presence suggests that Sexyy Red is building on proven foundations. ATL Jacob, a producer known for work with Future and Lil Baby, contributes to the production side.

Sukihana matches Sexyy Red’s raw and unfiltered delivery, creating a cohesive dynamic. The mixtape does not feel like a solo effort with scattered features; instead, it resembles a dialogue between artists who share mutual respect.

The singles themselves cover a range of styles. “Born By the River” opens the campaign with a declaration of origin. “Female Gucci Mane” leans into a nickname the rapper has carried for some time.

“SkeeYee” introduced a catchphrase before the mixtape dropped. “Hellcats SRTs” draws on car culture and flashy imagery.

Each track lands in a different musical pocket, demonstrating versatility. The production shifts accordingly—”Pound Town 2″ carries a club-friendly bounce, “SkeeYee” is more percussive and lean, and “Hellcats SRTs” rumbles with heavy bass. This variety is intentional.

Sexyy Red is not confining herself to one sound. She is testing what resonates and using collaborators to expand her range.

The rollout of five singles before the project landed is an aggressive strategy. Most artists release one or two advance tracks. Five indicates confidence in the material.

The collaboration angle is the most calculated aspect of the release. By bringing in heavy hitters and allowing them to operate in their strengths, Sexyy Red demonstrates an understanding of the music industry.

The mixtape becomes a showcase of connections and taste, affirming that she belongs alongside these names. “Hood Hottest Princess” marks a milestone because it proves she can operate at this level. The singles were already out, the guests were lined up, and critics were watching. The delivery met the moment.
