LONDON, July 19 — The mechanics of extradition shifted into gear this weekend for Andrew and Tristan Tate, after US Marshals arrested the brothers on American soil at the request of UK prosecutors. A US Department of Justice spokesperson confirmed the arrests were made pursuant to extradition proceedings, following a fresh announcement of charges by the Crown Prosecution Service on Saturday. Andrew Tate, 39, now faces seven additional counts of rape, alongside charges relating to sex trafficking and child pornography, the CPS said.
Tristan Tate, 37, faces a separate but overlapping set of allegations: one count of sexual assault, two counts of rape, and three counts of arranging or facilitating the trafficking of a person for sexual exploitation. The charges bring the total number of alleged victims in the case to seven, according to Malcolm McHaffie, Head of the Special Crime Division at the CPS.
McHaffie said the charging decisions followed receipt of a further file of evidence from Bedfordshire Police. On closer reading, the timeline prosecutors lay out is a long one. The alleged offending spans from July 2010 to August 2017.
The catch is that these charges build on a foundation already laid. In May 2025, prosecutors confirmed a list of 21 charges the brothers will eventually face in the UK, for alleged offences said to have taken place between 2012 and 2016.

McHaffie confirmed the further file of evidence from Bedfordshire Police brought the number of alleged victims to seven. The alleged period of offending for these latest charges, July 2010 to August 2017, overlaps with but extends beyond the period covered in the May 2025 indictment, which runs from 2012 to 2016.
