Jerry O’Connell says he enjoys Rebecca Romijn’s natural body odor from crystal deodorant

LOS ANGELES — Jerry O’Connell has a confession about his wife’s armpits. And he’s not apologizing for it. The “Stand By Me” actor appeared on Monday’s episode of the “Thanks Dad with Ego Nwodim” podcast.

There, he revealed that Rebecca Romijn uses crystal deodorant. His verdict?

“It doesn’t work.” But here’s where the story turns. O’Connell doesn’t want it to work. “It doesn’t offend me.

I actually, ah — this is gonna get a little dirty — I kind of like it when I can smell my wife’s body odor,” O’Connell said on the podcast. He described the scent as a reminder of life itself.

“She’s alive, we’re alive, we’re living. It’s, like, a little kicking and like, it’s a little funky town,” he said. The couple married in 2007.

That was two years after Romijn’s divorce from “Full House” star John Stamos. They have twin daughters, Dolly and Charlie. This is not the first time O’Connell has shared intimate family details publicly.

During a recent appearance on “Live with Kelly and Mark,” he recalled his wedding day. His mother, Linda O’Connell, pulled him aside as they walked toward the ceremony.

“You don’t have to do this,” he remembered her saying. “You can go to the airport — no questions. We’ll cover for you.

It’s okay. You sure about this?

She’s a beautiful girl, she’s very nice, but you sure about this?” O’Connell insisted his mother “loves” Romijn. Linda herself agreed, saying simply, “I do.” The crystal deodorant admission raises a practical question. How common is this alternative?

Crystal deodorants are typically made from mineral salts. They work by creating an environment on the skin where bacteria cannot thrive. Many users swear by them.

O’Connell, clearly, does not. But his comfort with his wife’s natural scent is the real headline.

It is a raw, unfiltered statement about marriage and intimacy. It is not polished. It is not romantic in the conventional sense.

It is, by his own description, a little dirty. The actor’s willingness to discuss such personal matters has become a pattern.

He does not seem to filter himself. He does not seem to care if the details make others uncomfortable. His mother offered him an escape route on his wedding day.

He stayed. His wife uses deodorant that does not work. He stays.

There is a consistency in these stories. O’Connell chooses his marriage.

He chooses it despite his mother’s doubts. He chooses it despite the funk. He chooses it loudly and publicly, on podcasts and talk shows, with no apparent embarrassment.

Romijn has previously spoken about what keeps their marriage strong. The report does not specify her exact words.

But the implication is clear: something works. For O’Connell, that something might be as simple as accepting the unpleasant parts. Not tolerating them.

Not ignoring them. But liking them. Finding meaning in them.

Finding life in them. “It’s a little funky town,” he said.

He meant it as a compliment.
